The board layers are laid manually or automatically. Each new layer is arranged perpendicular to the layer below. The top and bottom layers of the finished board must be parallel, which results in an uneven number of layers. The minimum thickness is three layers, but there are also structures with five, seven or even more layers in rare cases.
