In the production of wood-based panels, the quality of the finished board depends essentially on the quality of the chips, fibres and strands used. Pallmann builds timber preparation plants that convert wood and annual plants into these raw materials for the production of chipboards, MDF boards and OSB boards in perfect quality.

In addition to the wood-based panel industry, Pallmann's customers also include the paper industry, energy producers, pellet producers, the food and feed industry, the chemical industry and the plastics processing industry. This always involves systems for shredding, processing, transporting and storing wood, waste wood, wood chips, coarse shavings, pre-cultivated waste wood, natural fibres such as cotton stalks, bamboo or bagasse, plastic waste such as runners, profiles, rubber, etc. 

Pallmann offers a wide range of machines for this purpose: Refiners, knife ring flakers, long wood flakers, drum chippers, hammer mills, drum and rotor debarkers, wood chip washing systems, complete wood yard systems from the feeding of e.g. industrial wood to the feeding of the finished material into a bunker or silo. 

Since 2017, Pallmann Maschinenfabrik has been 100% integrated into the Siempelkamp Group. The Siempelkamp Group thus completes its know-how and now offers all components for wood-based panel plants, from energy generation and tree trunk barking to chip or wood fibre preparation, continuous pressing and storage of the finished wood-based panels.
