All parts are planed on four sides to obtain perfectly flat surfaces and right angles. This step is important for the dimensional accuracy and precision of all further processing.
Four-sided planer
In the four-sided planer all longitudinal sides of the window parts are processed. The machine has at least four milling spindles for this purpose, but there can also be five or six - the more there are, the more material can be removed. A higher feed speed can then be selected.
Often the planing machine also produces the material for the glazing beads from the frame parts. This is especially the case with larger production volumes. In addition to the milling spindles, some models offer the option of cutting the glazing beads from one corner of the window scantling with two saw blades arranged perpendicular to each other. For smaller production volumes, the raw material for the glazing beads tends to be sourced separately from a supplier; in this case this additional option is not required.
