All required parts for window frames and sashes are cut to length. The raw material for this are scantlings (window scantlings), which are offered in standard lengths in a wide range of wood species. If the material for the glazing beads is purchased separately from suppliers, these are also cut to length first.
Cross-cut saw
For the cross cutting of window scantlings, undertable cross-cutting saws, upper table cross-cutting saws (pendulum saw, radial circular saw/outrigger circular saw) or also mitre circular saws are used.
In the mass production of standard windows, mostly cross-cut saws with automatic feed are used and the waste is minimized by computer.
