In front of the press infeed, various liquids are often applied:
The mat is sprayed with water or additives. This has a positive effect on the pressing process: The pressing time is reduced, so that the feed speed can be set higher. Additives can also be used to achieve special properties of the board such as resistance to fungi or a reduction in flammability.
Depending on the adhesive used, a release agent must be applied to the press plate. This prevents the glue from sticking to the press plate.
The spraying devices used are usually rotary spraying systems. The liquid is applied by a pump onto spraying discs that rotate at high speed. The forces that occur cause the liquid to be thrown away evenly.
