The individual parts - carcase parts and furniture fronts - are prepared for assembly. For this purpose, various function holes are drilled into the workpieces, e.g. holes for fittings, dowels and other connecting elements, row holes to accommodate the shelves, etc.
Series production of furniture parts: Due to the high volume output, only drilling machines that are integrated into the flow process can be considered here.
Lacquer fronts and 3D/foil fronts: Drilling must take place after lacquering or laminating. Otherwise liquid paint would run into the holes and block them; the film would cover the holes. Lacquered furniture fronts and foil fronts are usually drilled stationary on a machining center. This can be a dedicated machine, but often the same machining centre is used as was previously used for formatting and contouring.
