If the planks still have a tree edge or wane, this is removed. This step can be omitted if you use trimmed planks or boards.
A longitudinal circular saw works according to the principle of a pressure beam saw: The plank is aligned on the machine table. A laser positioning aid, which projects the course of the cut onto the wood, usually helps here. If the position is correct, a pressure beam holds the wood plank firmly and a saw carriage cuts through it in one cut.
A sliding table saw is very flexible and can therefore also be used to trim planks. Planks are aligned on the carriage of the sliding table saw and then guided lengthwise over the saw blade.
