It is important in the production of laminate flooring to detect defects in the laminating or coating process as early as possible. This applies both to DPL laminate (Direct Pressure Laminate) with a paper surface and to PDL laminate (Printed Direct Laminate), i.e. laminate flooring coated in the digital printing process.
In some cases, this quality control is carried out by an employee. It is better to use surface inspection systems (surface scanners) that automatically and reliably detect even the smallest defects.
Possible defects in the carrier board: unevenness, local moisture fluctuations that impair adhesion
PDL laminate: Possible defects of the papers are e.g. colour deviations of the decor paper or damage
DPL laminate: colour deviations or poor fitting accuracy are possible during printing
