During the production of solid parquet blocks and mosaic parquet, the blanks resp. raw friezes must be planed. One difficulty is that the workpieces here are very short: In the case of mosaic parquet usually only 160 mm; with parquet blocks it is a little more. In order to guide these short pieces, a special planing machine for short pieces is required, which has a suitable feeding device. Conventional planing machines cannot be used for this reason.
Pre-planing of the blanks for solid parquet blocks: The top and bottom sides are planed and a straight longitudinal edge is created - the so-called jointing. Planing makes it easier to judge the wood quality. The joined longitudinal edge serves as a reference edge for further processing.
Planing of the blanks for mosaic parquet: The blanks are planed on the top and bottom side. The thickness of the blocks after planing corresponds to the width of the finished lamellas.
