SERRA Maschinenbau GmbH, a company of Wintersteiger AG in Ried, Germany, builds mobile and stationary sawmill technology with modern control panels and innovative control technology.
The core product is the horizontal log band saw, which is offered in four size classes. The largest machine saws logs up to a diameter of 160 centimetres. All machines are characterised by a particularly robust, stable construction. Many Serra machines are mobile, i.e. they are transported close to the log. However, larger stationary sawmills are also supplied with the entire periphery (round and sawn timber conveyors, removal systems, buffer tables, board singulators). The band saws are driven alternatively electrically or by combustion engines.
Re-cutting saws and edgers (based on circular and band saws) complement the log band saw and increase the performance significantly. The product range also includes band saw blades with an efficient sharpening service as well as grinding machines and rolling and straightening equipment for the complete in-house sharpening room.
